It's December Already!

I can't believe it's December already. I am glad to be back home from all the Holiday visiting last week! I have miss out on some challenges! This card covers two, todays technique challenge Speckled Backgrounds and last weeks sketch challenge 204 on Splitcoast Stampers.

This technique was fairly simple. I brayered the glossy cardstock with Bordering Blue and Sponged a little Not Quite Navy ink as well. Then I just sprayed some Simple Green straight from the bottle onto the cardstock and dried it with my heat tool.Brayer spray and go! So glad to be back home from the Holiday visiting and back to stamping! Can't believe December is here!!!

CC193 Season of Joy

This card is for Splitcoast Stampers color challenge 193. At first I wasn't sure about these colors, Real Red, Basic Black and Kraft. After looking though the gallery I really saw its true potential. I cased this card from jpardoe you can see the original card here.

I really like the layout she used for the card and I thought I could make it over with the Season of Joy set. I like the sparkle that the Stickles add. Still like the original better :)

Holiday Gift Card Holder

This is a card we made at my Holiday Stamp Camp this year.

It is a great card to give with your holiday gift cards this season and it is very simple to make.

First you want to start with a 4 x 11 sheet of cardstock. Score this piece at 3", 5 1/2" and 8". Now is the time to add any background stamping!

Next fold in half and then fold each side up toward the fold to make a 'W' shape.

Next we are going to punch out the notch for the gift card to slide in. I used the tag punch and a circle punch.

Just make sure you leave a little space on each end to keep the fold together.

Apply adhesive to the bottom of the pocket only.

You want to leave the rest of the area free of adhesive so that you can slide the gift card in.

Then it is time to decorate!

Two Challenges in One!

After what has become a very long week for me, I was able to sit down and make a card! Speeding ticket on Sunday and a black hair mishap on Tuesday! I had attempted to color my hair a dark brown Tuesday, however the end result was BLACK!

This card I made for Sketch Challenge SC201 and Color Challenge 191. The background pages were all stamped with the Versamark pad to make a watermark effect. And the greeting image was stamped with Pretty in Pink ink and highlighted with the Ruby Red and Old Olive markers. I am satsified with the end result, however I may add a bit of sparkle to jazz it up a bit.

Just not sure it is fitting for Christmas, but its that time of year and I have alot of Christmas cards to make. My husband said to send this one to my old aunts. What do you think?

An Artichoke Christmas

Slowly getting Christmas cards done. For this one I used my new Hostess Pattern Pack Designer Series Paper in Artichoke. I am loving the Artichoke color with Real Red. I think it goes great together. I used the mat pack to pierce the Mellow Moss background around the border. I am a big fan of the Mat Pack for it's low price and versatility!

I used the Yoyo Yellow Marker and Close to Coco Marker directly on the Tree stamp to color the star and truck. For the snowflake circle, I stamped off the Artichoke once before making my finally image. I colored the 'Deck the Halls' with the red marker on the greeting stamp to stamp onto the snowflake.

Holiday Coaster Frame

This is one of my Holiday Stamp Camp projects that I did with my customers. The coaster uses Season of Joy one of my favorite Christmas sets. The red strip I pierced using the Stampin' Up Mat Pack, it gives the strip a nice textured look which is hard to see in the picture. The JoY was inked using the Versamarker and then embossed with white embossing powder. I using the Versamark pad for the snwflake stamp and cut it out with the 1 1/4" circle punch and mounted it on the scallop circle punch with a Stampin' Dimensional. Holes in the coaster was punch with the Crop-a-Dile which is great for punching chipboard. I love the way it turned out!
